Small Residential Towers
Urban Threads is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Roman palazzina, located in the Parioli neighborhood of Rome—an area historically associated with modern residential development for the city’s upper middle class. The project draws from the traditional palazzina typology, maintaining a commercial ground floor and centralized circulation while reimagining the model to support contemporary modes of urban living.
The proposal is organized into three residential volumes: two larger towers containing private one- to three-bedroom units, and a smaller northern tower that introduces a communal living typology with shared spaces on each floor. A central courtyard weaves through the site, with rounded building edges guiding pedestrian movement inward to create a welcoming and connected public realm.
Green space is threaded throughout the project through roof terraces, living-edge balconies, and integrated planters, extending the presence of nearby parks into the architecture. In response to the neighborhood’s limited accessible green space, a new public park is introduced at the corner of the block, reinforcing the project’s relationship to its urban context and community.
